The Formula for Prosperity and Happiness

Many people will try just about anything to be prosperous and happy. In fact, they try many different ways to come to that place, and all of them fail, because they are looking in the wrong places. Most people think that they are smart enough to know what to do with their life, but they are not. Most people think they know what is right and good to do, but they are going by their own understanding. That always fails, too. We all need to realize that we need help to have prosperity and happiness. We need help from the Lord, and He is always ready to give us the right direction, if we will listen. That is what Elihu told Job and the other three friends. (Job 36:9-11) He assured them that God will always tell us what we have done wrong and how arrogantly we have sinned. He will open our ears to correction and then He will tell us to repent from those sins. If we listen to the Lord, and we turn from our ways to His ways, we will end our days in prosperity and our years in happiness. Does that sound too good to be true? It might, but it isn't too good to be true.

God wants what is best for us. At the top of the list is that we would always honor Him as Lord of our lives. When He is our Lord, we go by His directions. We do not go our own way. When He is Lord, we will be sensitive to Him, and He will tell us when we do wrong, because that will only bring us harm. Also, it will often bring poverty and sadness. Therefore, when He tells us what we have done wrong, which He will do for each of us, we have a choice. We can listen and repent, or we can go our way. If we turn away from our way and follow His way, He leads us to the rest of what is best for us. He leads us to listen to Him and serve Him. When we do the right things and serve the Lord, we will save our money and be a good steward of it, like He commands us. That will lead us to have some prosperity. If we go His way in how we treat others, and we love Him and others well, we will have much happiness, too. See what the Bible is saying? God really does have a wonderful plan for your life, if you will just listen, obey, and serve Him.
