The Spacious, Free Life

Life can close in on us, at times. It can seem like we are trapped in a prison of bad circumstances and people who are out to get us.That is a miserable way to live. However, life doesn't have to be that way. King David shared what he had found out. He found that the spacious, free life comes from God. When we live that wide open, free life, it is God who protects us and keeps us safe. In fact, when we run to Him, we are strengthened and delivered from evil because God saves us from it. (Psalm 37:39,40) I think that is where I want to live, don't you?

The Bible speaks of God bringing His people to "wide places," or spacious places, which have room for us to live and not be harmed by others.(Genesis 26:22) It is when we dwell in those places, we are free from the sinful practices of others who wish to harm us. We are free to learn and grow without much interference. This is God's desire for every one of His children. He wants us to live free from sin's bondage and protected from enemies. It is a safe place. Sounds good doesn't it? We need to turn to the Lord, follow His direction, and find the spacious, free life. When we do, we can be strong and experience God's deliverance. However, if we fail to follow the Lord, we can find ourselves in bondage to sinful people and sinful practices. I pray we will all have the spacious, free life.
