Anthems that will Raise the Roof

David was a musician. He wrote most of the psalms, songs, in the book of Psalms. Of course, those songs were inspired by God for all of us to sing and enjoy the praise and passion expressed in them. David was also king. He had many enemies who wished to pull him down. However, he ran to God, and He delivered him from all who wanted to bring him down by lifting David head and shoulders above them. When David thought about this blessing, he went to the House of God to sing anthems that would raise the roof with praise. In fact, he couldn't wait to get there. He started singing and making music on the way to the temple. (Psalm 27:6) Sounds like a great heart of praise and worship to me. I wonder if we have the same reaction to God protecting us and exalting us above our enemies? We should.

This Sunday will be our first Sunday to worship together at North Henry in more than 2 months. God has been so good to us. He has protected us. He has lifted us above the problems of the pandemic and given us health and peace, during a time of anxiety and fear. I know the pandemic is not over, but as we trust the Lord and take precautions, we can now return to corporate worship. What a blessing! I pray we are ready yo raise the roof with our songs of praise. In fact, I hope we are already singing in anticipation of being able to assemble together for worship. I am praying for God's people to be prepared to really worship the Lord and raise the roof for all He has done for us, just like David did in his day.
