All Sunshine and Sovereign is God

I love how Korah describes God and those who know the Lord in this psalm. It has so many meaningful word pictures for us to contemplate. Let's try to use our spiritual imagination and let God show us His nature. That must be what Korah was doing when he described God as sunshine and sovereign, generous in gifts and glory. He doesn't scrimp with those who walk with Him in righteousness, because He is the God-of-the-Angel-Armies. (Psalm 84:12) Isn't that a beautiful picture of who God is?

Some people are sunshine, and some are rain. God is sunshine because He is upbeat and positive. He is the God of grace and mercy, first and foremost. He is sovereign. He is in control of everything in the universe. It is not hard for Him, either. He is well able to oversee all of His creation perfectly. God is not stingy, but He is generous in giving gifts. Again, that comes from His love and grace. He always gives us more than we deserve. His glory is abundant, too. He is so good. He never scrimps with His traveling companions. Those who walk with Him get extra perks for their faithfulness and uprightness. It is smooth sailing with Him. It is not that we do not have storms and trouble, but our lives are empowered by His Spirit, directed in the right way as we follow Him, and even when we hit a rough spot, He is walking with us to hold us up and carry us when needed. He has all the angels and His unlimited power to help us with anything we might need. Now, that is a how great and glorious God is for those of us who know Him.
