Why Did Sarah Laugh?
I am sure we have all laughed when someone told us something about ourselves that seemed very improbable or impossible. It is fine to laugh when another person tells us something like that, but is is a mistake to laugh when God says those kinds of things to us. (Genesis 18:13,14) The reasons for this are very simple. God doesn't lie, and nothing is too hard for God.
Let's not be too hard on Sarah. After all, she had been barren all of her life, and she was 98 years old when the Lord told her she would have a baby the next year. That does seem impossible to us. However, when God says it, it is not only possible, it will happen. Therefore, we need to learn from Sarah and never laugh at anything God says is going to happen to us or though us. We need to simply believe and adjust our lives to receive what He will send to us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Genesis 21-23.
