Words Without Knowledge

Job and his friends had spoken many words, but they did not have all of the knowledge they needed to figure out what was happening to Job. Therefore, all of their words darkened counsel, instead of bringing light to the conversation.(Job 38:1-3) That is when God stepped in to question Job, thus showing that Job was lacking knowledge needed to make the correct interpretation of his situation. This is how it is for all of us.

Have you noticed that we are proud of our ability to think logically. This makes us feel like we can solve any dilemma. However, we are very limited in our knowledge, so that our reasoning is faulty. We can't see all of the factors we need to see to reach the right conclusion about any difficult matter. This is why we need to pray and hear from God first, or we need to find the answer from His Word. Most of the time, the Bible is the specific revelation of God to us with the knowledge we need for almost every situation. However, when it comes to things that are not in the Bible directly, God is happy to show us His wisdom and give us knowledge, if we will just ask Him.(James 1:5) All of this is why we should not jump to conclusion and think we are smart enough to make the decisions by our own knowledge.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Job 39-41.
