Leaders Who Encourage Moral Decline
The leaders of a country have a great effect on the morals of the people. They can either promote good morals by their words and actions, or they can encourage moral decline by their words and actions. Judah was brought low, because king Ahaz encouraged moral decline, and he was continually unfaithful to the Lord.(II Chronicles 28:19) I believe America is being brought low for the same reason.
When a leader engages in sexual immorality and jokes about it, the people think that they should do the same thing. They think if that is how an important, powerful person lives, I can do it, too. If a leader promotes abortion and homosexuality, it leads to moral decline among the people. We have had leaders of America who have done these types of things over the past 25 years. Our country is suffering because of this, and it is effecting everything from the family to the economy.
We need to pray for God to send strong leaders who will encourage strong Biblical morals by what they say and what they do. Our children and teens need good role models at the highest levels of our leadership. Adults need to be encouraged to be people of high morals. This would begin to strengthen our country and get us back on track. However, the most important thing is for our country to have an Awakening that will bring us back to the Lord Jesus Christ. Please, join me in praying for these things to happen in our country.
