Jesus Said, "I Am."
When Jesus was betrayed by Judas and arrested by the Jewish leaders, He was mostly silent as the Prophet Isaiah had said He would be in Isaiah 53. However, the few words He spoke were very powerful. Jesus left no doubt that He was the Christ, the God/Man, God's Son, who came into this world to show us the Father and to die for our sins.(Mark 14:61,62) Of course, the Jewish leaders called His statement blasphemy. We all have to decide for ourselves if we believe that Jesus is who He said He was.
Jesus had given the Jewish leaders every reason to believe He was God's Son from His birth to the end of His life on earth. He fulfilled every prophecy. He healed the sick, cast out the demons, raised the dead, and spoke the truth with authority like no one else. They did not want to believe He was the Christ because they were proud of themselves and the "religion" they were following. Jesus pointed them to a relationship with God by putting their trust in Him. He even used the divine name, "I AM." However, they did not see the light and turn to Christ.
What is your decision? Who is Jesus Christ? Do you trust Him as Lord of all and Lord and Savior of your own life? Right now He is seated at the right hand of the Father. He is waiting for the word from the Father to return to the earth in power. At that moment it will be too late to decide. Now is the time to take Jesus at His word, and know Him as the Great I Am.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Luke 1-4.
