Backing Up His Promises
God has no problem keeping His promises.(Numbers 11:23) In fact, His Word is filled with promises, and He delights in keeping them. The problem is with us. Do we believe He can and will keep His promises, so that we adjust our lives in faith to receive them? Moses even had a hard time believing God could give meat to 2 million people, but God kept His promise in a miraculous way. He does the same for us today.
Be sure you listen closely to God. Be careful to read His Word for clear understanding. Then, when you hear Him promise you something, know you can always trust Him. Start living out what He has told you. Some people are depending on God to give them what they want. He never promised to do that. Others are expecting Him to meet their needs on their terms and timetable. He never said He would do that either. God's promises come as answers to prayer and as we seek His provision for our lives. He completes them in His own way, so that He gets the credit.
Don't doubt the Lord, once you have heard a promise from Him. Just make sure you have heard from Him. If you have received a promise from the Lord, stand back and watch as the All-powerful God carries out His will by His mighty right hand. Stand in awe and give Him the glory.
