God Responds To Repentance

The Israelites made God so angry with their worship of false gods that He told them He would not deliver them from their enemies any more. He told them to call out to their false gods, if they wanted help. However, the people did the one thing that always gets God's attention. They admitted their sin, repented, and started serving God.(Judges 10:15,16)

Talk is cheap. God does not always respond to our prayers, unless He sees that our hearts are faithful to Him. The one way that He knows we mean business is when we repent. God responds to repentance.

Repentance does not just mean to be sorry for our sins. Anyone can be sorry, especially when we get caught in our sins. The real is test is when we change our minds and our behavior. That is repentance. God knows that people are slow to change most of the time. Therefore, when He sees an abrupt change, He responds. Then, He sees our misery, and He reaches down in power to deliver us from our affliction or to bless us in some significant way, because He loves to see us repent of our sins and start serving Him in truth.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Judges 12-15.
