Reconciliation

Reconciliation is a big word for restoring a relationship with another person. People get upset with each other for many reasons, and then, it is very important for them to work it out, or their relationship can be destroyed forever. That is a very sad situation created by Satan. He loves to destroy relationships. We must be committed to reconciliation so Satan doesn't win.

It may be that we need to forgive or to ask for forgiveness. It may be that we need to communicate, because someone has received the wrong information. It may be that we need to heal from the hurt another caused us, or they may need to heal from the hurt we caused them. Whatever it is that is needed, it is worth the time and effort. God established us to be in relationship with other people, and when we are cut off from anyone, it hurts us.

Our main problem is that we need to be reconciled to God. Our sin comes between us and God. Jesus came to die for our sins. In fact, He took all of the sins of the world onto Himself and became sin for us, so He could die for our sins. His blood was the only thing that could pay the price required for God's justice to be satisfied. He did His part in the reconciliation, but we have to repent of our sins, and bow to Jesus as Lord. Then, we are reconciled to God. Our relationship with Him is just as if we never sinned. We are cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and through Him we are the children of God.

Tomorrow, I intend to read II Corinthians 8-10.
