Answered Prayer!

I want to thank each of you who have joined in praying for the people of Japan and for the missionaries. I asked for special prayer for the Qualls family yesterday at our morning worship service, so I am rejoicing at God's answer to our prayers. He is faithful! Here is Lori's email about the Qualls:

Dear Prayer Team,

We have good news! We are back in touch with the Kevin & Donna Qualls, our family in Sendai! Their power was restored this afternoon, so they were able to contact our personnel and their family back in the States. They are all fine. Their house is not damaged. Their four kids are okay, just dealing with the trauma as you might expect.

After the quake, Kevin filled up the bathtub and kitchen pots with water, and they are boiling water to drink. They've been able to stay warm at night by sleeping in the same room. Food is being rationed out and their neighbors are all sharing a small propane burner in order to cook a little.

It might be several weeks until water and gas are restored, but Kevin didn't seem worried about the conditions. They are not overly concerned about the nuclear reactors because their neighbors have assured them they're far enough away from them. They do not feel the need to evacuate.

Their neighbors have been keeping them informed and taking care of them. The Qualls have also been able to share with their neighbors and provide counsel.

Thank you so much for praying on behalf of this precious family. Please continue to pray for the Qualls as they reach out in Jesus name to minister to those around them. They have such a great chance to show their solidarity with their neighbors right now and live out the reason they came to Japan in the first place - to be Christ's hands and feet and to proclaim His love for the Japanese.

Pray for all the Christians in Japan - nationals, missionaries, businesspeople, traditional church members, house church members, everyone! Pray that we would all make the most of every opportunity to share the good news of Christ's love with those we encounter. Now more than ever, Japanese need to know that Jesus wants to be their Strong Tower that they can run to in the midst of the storm. Pray for open hearts as take advantage of every opportunity to boldly proclaim the hope we have in Christ. May God use this tragic disaster to glorify Himself among the Japanese!

Please, continue to lift up Lori and Jeff as they return from Taiwan this week, too. Our prayers make a difference, because God loves the prayers of the saints.

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Samuel 5-7.
