The Strength of My Heart

Heart disease is a major health problem in the USA. There are men and women who find out every day that they have blocked arteries, or they have an abnormal heart beat. There are also many other people who suffer from congestive heart failure because of a weakened heart. It adds up to a lot of pain and weakness. The heart is such an important part of our bodies.

As I have told you, I am preaching on the heart in the spiritual sense this year. I believe there is just as much spiritual pain and weakness, because of our hearts. The heart is who were are as a person. It is our inner person. Spiritually, we can and do have heart failure. (Psalm 73:26) However, God is the Great Healer of the heart. He can give strength to our hearts and restore them to spiritual vitality.

How is your heart doing? Is it strong and faithful, or is it weak and vacillating? Just take a look at your life. Is it full of faith and good works or not? That is how we can tell the strength of our hearts. If there is spiritual weakness, we need to run to the Lord for strength, and He will supply it out of His abundant power. In fact, He is all we need.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 75-78.
