God Stilled the Storm

This afternoon we had the Run For The Bun 5K Run/Walk fundraiser for the Pregnancy Resource Center of Henry County. It was an amazing event. There were about 500 runners and walkers assembled in McDonough for the start of the run. It is a major fundraiser for the center, so it is very important. Every dollar helps to save lives and to see souls saved, too.

The thing that made it so amazing was the weather. All week long we had been hearing about the terrible weather that would be moving into the Atlanta area on Saturday afternoon and evening. Therefore, we all began to pray for God to work it out. He did in a marvelous way. It was cooler than last year, and it sprinkled just enough to make folks comfortable. He held off the majority of the rain until almost everyone was finished with the course. I praise God for His power and His goodness.

Now, I pray that we all would recognize His power, not just to still a storm, but to do whatever we need in our lives. We need to have a calm assurance that He is able. Without that peace we can go through life worrying. If we do, we will miss a lot of what He is trying to accomplish in our lives. Let's all pray that He will still the storm in our lives, and when He does, let's give Him all of the credit. That way everyone will see Him for who He is, the Lord of all.

Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 10-12.
