A Steadfast Heart
Life is like a rollercoaster. There are so many ups and downs. One day good things are happening, and the next day there is a crisis. We never know from one day to the next where we will find ourselves. However, we can have stability in our lives anyway. Yes, we really can have stability. It is all up to us and the Lord, though.
King David had it rough most of the time, but he had found the key to having that stability. (Psalm 57:7) He said, "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise." David was not looking at his circumstances, and allowing those things to change his heart. David's heart was set on God and nothing was going to change that. That is God's design for all of us.
If we don't watch out, we can allow our heart to waver in our faith. We can even have a divided heart, if we are not careful. We must not allow our heart to depart from trusting God completely. Yes, I know Satan will plant doubts and tempt us to give up on God, but we must resist him and remain firmly established on God. When God sees that single, steadfast heart, He will be right there with us to sustain us, no matter what happens.
This will lead us to sing and give praise to the Lord. The more we have a song in our heart and we sing praises to God, the easier it will be to remain steadfast. We must constantly remember the greatness of God and the goodness of God. Then, we should be praising Him for who He is and thanking Him for what He has done. That will keep our focus and God and our faith steadfast, no matter what comes our way.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 58-60.
