He Knows My Name
David knew the protection of the Lord. For years, King Saul chased him, so he could kill him out of jealousy. Others tried to harm him, too. He fought many battles, in which God protected him. Therefore, we need to hear what David has to say about those whom God protects. (Psalm 91:14) This is a profound truth for all of us.
God delivers those who hold fast to Him in love. God loves us so much, and He longs for us to love Him back with a faithful love that does not waver. Also, He protects those who know His name. That means we have a very close relationship with Him. In many cultures people believe they should only give their first name to those they know well. The reason is that if someone knows our name they can slander us or otherwise use our name in a bad way. Therefore, they only reveal their last name, until they trust the other person enough. This comes from really knowing that person, having a very close relationship. Do you know His name and hold fast to Him in love? We all need to ask ourselves that question. If we do, we are delivered from our sins by our love and relationship with Jesus, and we are protected by His supernatural power.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 92-94.
