Steadfast in the Faith
We have a world that is filled with all different types of religions and beliefs. There is a great contrast between what the Bible teaches and these other beliefs. It can be very challenging to remain true to the Lord when everyone else is worshiping other gods or no god at all. However, we must remember that the world has always been this way. Most people have been rejecting God and trusting in other gods ever since Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden. Therefore, we have to show a steadfast faith in the name of the Lord, like Micah said. (Micah 4:5) How do we do that? Let me explain.
Faith is a conviction, and it is a lifestyle. We must decide once and for all to put our trust in the Lord. That is faith, and it brings us to have the conviction that we will live or walk in His name. If we really trust the Lord, we will live for Him by faith every day. In order to do that, we follow what the Word of God shows us about the nature of our Lord. That is what is represented by the name of the Lord. We are to trust Him, so that we do what He would wants us to do, even when everyone else goes another way. We can do that because the Lord will give us the power, if we will just make the decision to follow Him. That is how we come to be steadfast in the faith, when the whole world seems to be against God and us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Micah 5-7.
