Living Godly lives
When God reveals himself to us, which He does to all people, the message is clear. He desires for us to be saved from our sins by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. When we do this, we turn from the ungodliness and worldly lusts around us, and we decide to live soberly, righteously, and godly. (Titus 2:11,12) The message is clear, and it always the same.
God hates sin, because He knows the destruction it brings to any life. Therefore, He reveals His plan of salvation from sin to all people. It is by His grace that we receive forgiveness from our sins by trusting in Jesus Christ. However, what many people do not remember is that repentance is always part of trusting Jesus. We must turn from our ways and from the ungodliness of this world in order to turn to God. We can't continue on the broad road to destruction and make it to heaven. He saves us by grace "from" our sins, not "in" our sins. Therefore, the Christian life is all about living a godly, righteous life by the power of the Spirit. That way we honor God, and we become like Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Philemon and Hebrews 1-2.
