Coming in God's Name, Not in Our Own Power
How do you attack the problems of this life? If you are a child of God, you have two options. You can come in the name of the Lord, or you can try to handle the problem in your own power. I strongly advise you to trust in the name of the Lord to conquer your challenges in life. If you will do this, you can be victorious like David was in defeating the giant warrior, Goliath.(I Samuel 17:45) If you try it yourself, you will fail to see God's complete will done in your life. Let me explain.
You have to know the Lord to come in His name. You have to have a personal relationship with Him by putting your faith in Him as Lord of your life. Then, you are a child of God, and you can act in God's name any time. This simply means that you depend on the resources of God to solve your problem. You know what the Lord would do in that situation, and you ask Him to give you the authority and power to do His will. When His children act in line with His character and do His will, He is pleased to bless them and fight for them.
Let's stop trying to do things ourselves, and let's start trusting the Lord. Once we know what He wants us to do, let's do it in His name, giving Him all of the credit. It will be amazing what happens, if we will do that every time.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Samuel 19-21.
