Pronouncing God's Blessing
God wants to bless us. He is not stingy with His blessings, but He is very discerning and wise. He knows just how to bless us in line with our relationship with Him. One thing we can do for others is to pronounce God's blessing on them, like God told Moses to have Aaron to do for Israel.(Numbers 6:24-26) We do not make up the blessing. It is not wishful positive thinking. It is God's will for them and His promises from His Word.
As believers, we do not create reality by what we say. We can't speak things into existence like God, and we can't cause things to happen or not to happen by what we say. However, we can agree with God, and we can confess His truth to others. It is very powerful to speak God's promises and His truth to someone, because it reminds us of His love and providential care over all of us. At times, God even gives us a special blessing to pronounce over someone, because He shows us His heart for that person as we pray or read His Word. We must be obedient to say what He lays on our hearts.
Look at the blessing of Israel that Aaron and his sons were to pronounce on the people. It was God's will to keep the people. They were His special treasure. The Lord is gracious. It is part of His love, but we need to be reminded of that often. It is His will for all of us to have peace. We all need to look into His face and see Him smile on us, as we live out our relationship with Him. If we would go through the day keeping all of this in mind, we would definitely be more aware of God's heart to help us in all we do and to bless us. Then, as we trust Him, we see it happen.
May God richly bless each of you today, so that you experience His grace and peace to the fullest.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 9-12.
