His Hand is Stretched Out Still
There is a common refrain in Isaiah 9 which says, "For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still."(Isaiah 9:17) We need to consider the heart of God and the grace of God, even in His anger. We need to see His hand out-stretched to us today, so that we do not loose heart and give up.
All around us we see hypocrites who say one thing and do another. They go about with a mask on their faces to cover up who they really are on the inside. God hates for us to be hypocrites, and He pours out His anger on us for that sin. All around us are people who do evil, and they seem to increasing every day. God can't stand by and not punish this evil, because His wrath is poured out against all evil since He is holy. All around us are people who speak folly. They do not know what they are talking about, but they seem to be in places of authority. This angers God, as well, to hear these foolish people filling the air with their folly. However, even as He pours out His anger on all of these sins, His hand is stretched out still. If people will see their sins and repent, He is ready to forgive and to heal. We must not give up. We must spread the Word that God loves us, and He is quick to forgive, if we will only seriously trust Him and follow His will. He does not give up on us, so we must not give up on Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 10-12.
