Mornings with the Lord
There is nothing like spending an unhurried time with the Lord in the morning to begin the day. It has benefits like no other discipline we can have in life. David knew that very well.(Psalm 143:8)
I remember when I first noticed the truths of Psalm 143:8. I was overwhelmed by how well it described an unhurried time. What we need to do is to hear God's voice in the morning by reading His Word, but also, by simply being still and quiet before Him and listening to what He wants to tell us for that day. We do it, because we trust Him, not only for our salvation, but for life every day. Without Him we can do nothing.(John 15:5) What He tells us shows His lovingkindness. He is always faithful. He never lets us down. Then, He shows us the way to go for that day, when we seek Him through our mind, will and emotions. I challenge all of us to meditate and this verse and to discipline ourselves to have that time with Him each morning like David did.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 144-146.
