The Whole Armor of God
God not only saves us from our sins when we trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He equips us with all that we need for the abundant Christian life. That is Paul's message to us in Ephesians 6:10-20. He uses the armor of a Roman soldier as an analogy of all God has given us to defeat Satan and his forces of evil and to live in victory.
Our guest evangelist, Phil Covone went over this armor with us tonight in our revival service. It is something we all need to know. I will let you read it and ask God to show you the significance of each piece of the armor for yourself. However, if you need help with what each piece means, I have a way of remembering that I can share with you.
However, this evening I want to ask two questions for all of us. Since God provides salvation from our sins by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, shouldn't we gladly receive this gift and give ourselves to Him? Then, since God has provided all we need to live the Christian life, as we see in the whole armor of God, shouldn't we gladly receive it and put it on each day? God has done all the "heavy lifting." All we have to do is to fully submit to Him in faith and take up the things He has freely given us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Samuel 23-24 and I Kings 1.
March 27 –30
Now, it is very important for us to continue to pray for the revival services. However, them main way to see revival in our church family is to be sure to come to the services yourself. If you are not there, it limits what God can do in you and through you. Continue to pray for the people around you and to invite them to come to the services.
