Personal Spiritual Growth
It seems that a lot of people these days have a plan for their physical health. They are on a certain type of diet, or they have an exercise regimen they follow religiously. There are others who have a plan for their financial matters. They have a budget for how they will spend, save, and invest their money for the best results. Others have a career plan. They have a timetable for how they will progress in their company or in their field, and they do whatever it takes to accomplish those career goals. All of those plans are well and good, if they are done within God's will.
However, I meet far fewer people with as structured a plan for their spiritual growth. Yes, they go to church. They take Bible studies, and they try to serve the Lord in various ways. The problem seems to be that there is no coherent plan for applying God's principles to everyday life, so that personal spiritual growth takes place. Our spiritual life is more important for our life and happiness than any other plan. We need to give it thought and effort on a daily basis, as much or more than we do these other types of plans for our lives. Then, we will see the rewards of being healthy and strong spiritually.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Peter 4-5 and II Peter 1.
