Your Vision for Your Life
Each of us is driven by the vision we have for our life. You might say, "I don't have a vision for my life." Well, if that is true, you are probably not going anywhere, and you are probably going in the wrong direction when you do go somewhere. Our vision is what we are trying to accomplish. What are you trying to accomplish?
I meet a lot of folks who are trying to stay healthy. That is their main vision. They think that they will be happy if they are healthy. Others are pursuing a vision of having more money. They believe that their lives will be improved by more money. That is the vision they are driving for. At the same time some are looking to other people for their happiness. Their vision is to find a husband or wife to share life with them. They believe that is where they can find satisfaction. Still others are searching for importance in having an important powerful position or job. That is their vision.
If you have any of those things as a vision for your life, you might reach it. However, you will miss the main thing. The only worthy vision is to be like Jesus. Once that is your vision, you will do whatever it takes to conform your mind, your heart, and your actions to His will. Your life will be radically different, because you will focus on Jesus in His Word and in prayer, so you can find out what He is like and what He would do. Then, you ask the Spirit to make you like Jesus.
There is a strange result of this true vision. You will be more healthy. You will probably not have money problems. You will find a better husband or wife, and you will probably find a very fulfilling job. How does that happen? It happens, because being like Jesus is the best you can be, and you will live life better if you are like Him. So that is why it is so important for us to be honest with ourselves about our vision for life. Then, we should do whatever it takes to decide to take on the vision to be like Jesus.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 3-6.
