Overcoming Fear
My Bible reading today included one of my favorite stories. It is when the Arameans seek to trap Elisha at Dothan. They surround the city with chariots, so that Elisha's servant is petrified. Then, Elisha prayed for him to be able to see the forces of God. When his eyes were opened he could see that the mountains were filled with chariots of fire. His fears were calmed, and he understood the great power of God.
What about you? Do you know that those who are with us, as believers, are more than those who are with them?(II Kings 6:16) I pray that you have come to that wonderful knowledge and you have overcome fear, once and for all. After all, you are a child of God. Why would He allow any harm to come to you that is outside of His will for you? If anything does happen, it comes from Him, and you are safe in His arms.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Kings 7-9 and John 1:1-28.
