My Chains Are Gone
We had a wonderful Easter celebration. I hope you did, too. Our choir did a fantastic job of presenting the musical "Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone." I believe it really caused people to see how the reality of Jesus' victory over sin, death, and Satan brings us the power to break the chains of anything in our lives that might bind us or enslave us. What a truth for today. There are so many people in bondage to something. They are losing hope, or they are hopeless because of the chains that bind them. They are tired, and they want to be set free. The problem is that they do not know that Jesus is the only one who can break those chains once and for all.
As I thought about my life, I realized all of my chains are gone by God's grace. I am not bragging, except to brag on Jesus. He has set me free. He has given me freedom from addictions and Satan's strongholds. I can say with confidence that my chains are gone, because of Jesus and the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life. What a blessing that is to me! I am free to do whatever God wants me to do. It is only a matter of being obedient. There is nothing to hold me back. I truly want to be faithful to Him since He has been so faithful to set me free.
I pray that you know that freedom. I pray that your chains are gone and you've been set free. It is not just a song we sing. It is the way God designed life in Christ. It is not automatic, but if you turn it over to Jesus, He is in the liberation business. I encourage you to run to Him and let Him remove the chains of whatever is binding you.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Joshua 19-21 and Luke 2:25-52.
