God's Protection - Isaiah 20-22 and Ephesians 6
In Isaiah's prophecy against Judah he makes a sobering statement that we need to contemplate. Isaiah tells us that God "removed the protection of Judah." That one fact tells us why Judah fell to their enemies. Without God's protection no one can stand up to the forces of evil in this universe. Satan and his demons are much too powerful for any of us, and they are continually seeking to harm God's people in any way they can. We must realize our vulnerability and seek God's protection at all times.
Paul gave us a great analogy about God's protection in Ephesians 6. Perhaps, God told him this analogy since he was around Roman soldiers so much in prison. Paul explained that we all need to put on the whole armor of God. This is God's armor for us. It all represents His strength that is available for believers, but we have to stand against Satan and his forces in God's power. We have to have the protection of God or else we will be defeated. Take a few minutes and consider the parts of the armor and how God supplies them for us, so we can trust Him and be victorious. Tell the Lord that you need His protection and His strength. Then, live in victory knowing that God is protecting you.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 23-25 and Philippians 1.
