Life is Short and Full of Trouble
Life is a blessing from God. It is wonderful to be able to have life and be able to relate to God and other people. At the same time we must declare with the Lord that life is short and full of trouble. If you had told me when I was young that I would live to be 71, I would have thought that would be a good long life. Now that I am 71, I say, "Where did the years go? It seems like they were so short?" As I look back, sure I have had much joy and happiness, but it has been one trouble after another for all those years, too.
As Job was suffering, it caused him to look back over his life. He came to this conclusion.. (Job 14:1,2) Life is short and full of trouble. We blossom like a flower and then wither. Like a shadow, we quickly disappear. The Bible reminds us of these facts about life in several places. It would behoove us to take these things to heart, so we can have the best life possible. Let's take a few minutes to think about these facts.
Since life is short, we must not waste any of it being lazy or doing the wrong things. We need to be mindful of every minute of every day and use each one to do God's will. The fact is that those moments will fly by, and we can never get them back. Also, we need to just anticipate trouble. When we face difficulties of any kind, we need to meet them with a positive mindset, knowing that is just how life is. We must let those troubles drive us to trust the Lord even more. That is what makes life sweet in the midst of the trials.
Then, we need to realize, whether we are blooming or withering that we will quickly disappear. We will leave this world for the next world. It will happen quickly, especially if Jesus comes to Rapture all believers. Therefore, we need to be ready, by trusting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. If you haven't taken that vital step, there is no time to waste. Do it today, and enjoy the rest of your short life here and your eternal life in heaven when this life ends.
