The Mind of Christ
Coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior is the greatest thing that can ever happen to us or to anyone else. The change that it makes in us is so wonderful it is hard to explain. I don't mean we will be happy all the time and everything will go well all of the time. I mean the changes that happen inside of us are simply amazing. We become a new creation in Christ with a new heart.
Paul gave us a fantastic result of becoming a Christian. (I Corinthians 2:16) He asks us a question to show that none of us could ever instruct the Lord. His wisdom is far above anything we will ever possess. However, he assures us that we have the mind of Christ. Isn't that amazing to consider? What an awesome blessing.
We have been studying a Bible study course by T. W. Hunt for the last 11 months. It is called the Mind of Christ. I recommend it to all of us. It has shown us from the Bible that Christ became a man, so He could die for our sins and rise again for our salvation, but also He was our Example of how to trust the Father and think and act righteously. Now, the Holy Spirit is in us, so we actually have the mind of Christ in us.
That doesn't mean that we will automatically think exactly like Jesus. It does mean that His basic mindset and worldview is planted in each believer by the holy Spirit. Now, we need to allow the Spirit to mature that mind in us, like a little child growing up to think and act like his or her parents. Yes, we can think, speak, and act like Jesus, if we will submit to the Holy Spirit and grow to be more like Jesus every day.
