Restored!

I have an fancy exhaust fan in my bathroom that has a light and a heater in it, as well as the exhaust fan. It has been a blessing on cold days for more than 15 years. Earlier this year the heating element went out, so it would only blow cold air. I thought I might have to buy another one, but a handy friend ordered and installed a new element for a fraction of the cost. Now, it is restored just like it was before. What a blessing!

There are times in our lives when we need to be restored. We need to get back to where we were earlier, because something has gone wrong that needs to be replaced or fixed. Jeremiah called God's people in his day to be restored. (Lamentations 5:21) He asked God to turn them back to Him, so they would be restored. He sought God to renew their days as the days of old when things were as they should be. It could be that you are in those days when you need to be restored. Let's see what needs to be done.

The key is to have a friend, like I did, who knows just what to do and how to do it. This just can't be any friend. It has to be the Lord Jesus Christ, Himself. Do you know Him as your Friend? Once we are saved from our sins, He is our Forever Friend, and He is there to help us with whatever goes wrong. We need to go to Him and ask Him to turn us back to Him and to the right way. He will do it. He loves to help.

God never means for us to drift away from Him. It is never His will for us to get into sin. We should never neglect our time with the Lord, thinking we need to do something different. When any of these things happen, we get broken. We must get back to Him and be restored. Then, we are as good as before or even better. God wants us to grow in Him consistently over time. If we are not experiencing Him the way we did in the past, we must get something right and be restored today.
