Help My Unbelief

Faith is the key to having salvation from sin through Jesus Christ. It is also how we are to live every day of our lives. We are to believe in the Lord and follow Him in all that He has for us to do, while always depending on His power to accomplish those things. Therefore, we can see that if we are lacking faith, we are in a very serious condition.

When Jesus came down from the Mount of Transfiguration, a father was there with his demon possessed son, asking Jesus to cast out the demon. Jesus pointed out that all things are possible to those who believe. (Mark 8:24) Immediately, the boy's father cried out and said, "I do believe, help my unbelief." That should be our prayer every day.

For those who are not Christians, I know it is hard to believe in everything that the Bible says about Jesus and salvation, especially if you were not raised in church and have not studied the Bible very much. However, I pray that you can see that Jesus was a real person, God and man, and He died and arose for your sins to be forgiven. Once you see that fact of history, tell God you believe and ask Him to help your unbelief, so you can grow in your faith.

For those who do believe in Jesus, and we have been saved, it is still possible that we can be plagued by unbelief in certain areas. We may have trouble fully believing difficult things in the Bible. We may doubt God's power in certain areas. We all need to admit our unbelief and cry out to God to help us with it, so we will be able to fully follow Jesus as a faithful disciple in all things.
