God Rejoices Over You

It is sure nice to get compliments from other people. We have to make sure that we don't let pride rise up in us when they say good things about us and what we have done. When people rejoice over us, it shows how much they appreciate us, and how they are so happy because of us. As great as those things are, it is much better when God rejoices over us. Yes, that is right. That is what He does.

Zephaniah gave a prophecy about a time in the future when God would be happy with His people, and he pointed it out for all of us to see God's heart. (Zephaniah 3:17) The Lord God is in our midst, a victorious warrior. He will rejoice over us with joy. He will be quiet in His love, and He will rejoice over us with shouts of joy. What a blessing! 

God is our Almighty victorious warrior at all times, and He is in our midst. He is not far away. He draws near to us in His great love for us. When we are faithful to Him, as His children, and we obey Him by doing what is pleasing to Him, He rejoices over us. He is so glad to see us happy that it makes him happy, too. I pray we can see the smile upon HIs face.

Then, at times, He is simply quiet in His love for us. He comes to sit with us in silence, just to be with us. At other times he rejoices loudly, with shouts of joy. He can't contain His joy over us. So the next time we feel down, and we think no one really loves us and appreciates us, let's remember this picture and know God loves us and rejoices over us.
