The Valley of Decision

It is so very important for us to make the right decisions for our lives. Some of those decisions are easy, but many are very difficult to make. It is like being in a valley with mountains hemming us in on both sides. We feel trapped, so that all we can do is go forward or backward. We are not sure which way to go, but we know if we choose the wrong way, it could be disaster for us.

There will come a day like this for the nations who will attack God's people, Israel. They will gather a huge army and march down the long valley that leads to Jerusalem. God will be there to bring judgment upon them. (Joel 3:14) There will be multitudes and multitudes in the valley of decision. They will not know that the day of the Lord is very near as they enter that valley. Many people are in a similar situation today.

Everyone who doesn't know the Lord Jesus as personal Lord and Savior is in their own valley of decision. So far in their lives, they have decided to ignore the Lord. He has been drawing them to believe in Him, but they have been going in the opposite direction. They have chosen to trust in themselves or in other people or things. All of this has them in a very precarious position in life.

The day of the Lord is when each of us will stand before Jesus. It could happen today in one of two ways. We could die today and then our fate would be sealed. Without knowing Jesus, we would not be able to enter heaven, but we would be cast into outer darkness forever. Or Jesus could return today to receive His children and take them to heaven. Those who are left here will go through great tribulation, followed by the Great White Throne Judgment of all who rejected Jesus. Please, don't let today pass without getting out of the valley of decision. Put your trust in Jesus once and for all.
