A Non-Prophet

There are people who are false prophets, and then, there are others who I am going to call "non-prophets." A false prophet is deliberately trying to lead people in a direction that is not God's will. False prophets are very destructive, because people hear their convincing words and follow them away from the truth. On the other hand, non-prophets may be well intentioned, but still, they give out the wrong information, and this hurts the cause of the Lord. God told Moses to warn the people about both of these kinds of prophets. (Deuteronomy 18:22) God said that if someone who claims to be a prophet says something that does not come about or come true, then what he said was not from the Lord. The false prophet or non-prophet has spoken presumptuously, and we must not fear them or respect them as a prophet. I believe this passage applies to our times, just as much as it applied in Moses' time.

Around the time of the election last year, there were several people who claimed to be Christian prophets who said things that did not come about or come true. In fact, several of them persisted in their prophecies into 2021. I won't go into specifics, but I will just say they have brought a black mark on the name of the Lord, because they claimed to have received a word from the Lord. Then, it was not valid. That is a very serious offense in God's eyes. Under the Old Covenant these non-prophets were to be stoned to death. Let's make one thing very clear. If a person claims to share what God has said, and it doesn't come true, God did not say it, and they are not prophets. A true prophet only says things that come about, because whatever God says always is true and it always happens, 100% 0f the time. Therefore, I want to urge all of us to reject these non-prophets. It is apparent they are not prophets at all. Their title gives people the wrong impression, and their false statements lead people away from God.
