The Blood of the Lamb

Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. That is what John, the Baptist, told his disciples when Jesus came to them. Today is Christmas. We need to spend some time celebrating the birth of the baby Jesus. At the same time, we must never forget that He is the Lamb of God, too. It is only by His blood that we can be cleansed from our sins. John saw a vision recorded in Revelation 7. He saw people dressed in white robes in heaven. (Revelation 7:13,14)  He asked one of the Elders who they were and where they had come from. The Elder told John they came out of the great tribulation, but they had washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. I don't believe we are in the great tribulation time now, but we need to be prepared for such a day to come.

I believe the great tribulation will be the seven years after the Rapture of the church and before the Second Coming of Christ. During that time, people will hear the Gospel and trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior, thus having their robes scrubbed clean in the blood of the Lamb. However, those are people who never heard the Good News before the Rapture. Those alive when Jesus takes His church home do not have another chance to trust Him. That is why I make this appeal to all of us this Christmas. Make sure you know the Lord and your robes have been cleansed in His blood. That happens when we repent of our sins, trust Jesus as the Only One who can cleanse us by His blood, and surrender to Him as Lord. There is no better day than the day we celebrate His birth to make that decision and to be cleansed and ready to go at any moment. Please, don't miss the Greatest Gift ever given.
