Singing a New Song

Heaven is going to be glorious beyond anything we can imagine. John was given a glimpse of heaven while on the Island of Patmos. God caught him up to heaven, so he could see the throne of God and the worship around the throne. God told him to record it for us, so we could see what he saw in our imagination and be excited about getting there ourselves. After all he saw, he heard those who were there singing a New Song to the Lamb, Jesus Christ. (Revelation 5:9,10) We can even begin singing this song now, because Jesus is worthy of all of our praise.

Jesus was given the scroll that contained the title deed to the earth, and He was the Only One worthy to open the seals and see what was going to happen on the earth. Because of this, we sing, "Worthy is the Lamb!" Jesus paid for us by giving His blood and bought men and women. He bought us back from all over the earth. He bought us back for God. The reason He had to do this was that we were sold in sin, and His blood was the only price that could buy us back and bring us to God, clean and forgiven. Then, we praise Him for making us a Kingdom of believers, Priest-Kings to rule over the earth. What a Mighty Lord and Savior! Let's get ready for heaven and begin giving Jesus His praise now.
