God's Prodding, Correcting, and Guiding

God cares about each of His dear children. Once we belong to Him, and we become a part of His family, He becomes our loving Father. Like any loving Father He is responsible to show us how to live the best we can. (Revelation 3:19) This is what Jesus told the church members at Laodicea. He always calls those He loves to account. He prods, corrects, and guides us, so that we'll live at our best. That is why from time to time He has to admonish us to get up on our feet, do an about face, and run after God. I hope He doesn't have to do that for you very often, but we all need to listen to Him when He does.

Most of the time when we say we have to prod something or someone. we are referring to a stubborn cow or person. I know we can all be stubborn like that, but God knows just where and when to prod us back to the straight and narrow way. When we sin, we need to be convicted, but we need correction to show us the right thing to do, too. God always gives His children good correction. Then, He is faithful to guide us, but we have the choice to listen or not. If He tells us to get up, do an about face, and run after Him, and we don't do it, He will give us even more incentive the next time. However, it may be very uncomfortable for us, so we really need to listen the first time. After all, living the best life God has for us is better than anything we would decide to do on our own. God knows that, and He loves us too much not to give us every opportunity to find that way in our life.
