Living Under the Name of God

Moses was faithful to deliver all of the blessings and the curses of God to the People of Israel. It was quite a list. When he finished, there was no doubt that God was serious about the people obeying His way. Moses made it very plain that the people would be held in respectful awe by all the peoples on Earth, if they would simply live "under the Name of God." (Deuteronomy 28:10) I believe we should all try to understand what that means and do it, if we wish to have the best possible life.

Where is the best place to live in all of the world? I usually tell people the best place to live is "in the will of God," wherever that may be. I believe that is the truth, because if we are living in God's will, we will be living under the Name of God. God's name represents His Person, His character, and His authority. When we live under His name, we will live like He lives, according to His ways. Also, we will live in line with His character. We will act like He would act in our situation. Finally, we will live under His authority. We will not try to do things by our own intellect, but we will obey Him without questioning. If we will do this, God promises that all the peoples on the Earth will notice, and they will hold us in respectful awe. They will be amazed at how good life can be, and how joyful life can be. They will want to know about God, so they can live under His Name, too.
