Corruption in Business Deals
As long as there have been people, I am sure there have been those who were dishonest in their business deals so they could make more money. This all comes from greed. God made it plain to Moses that all of this was an abomination to Him. Moses made it clear to the People of Israel that they were not to have dishonest weights and measures to use to take advantage of people. God hated those types of business dealings. (Deuteronomy 25:16) God hated it then, and He still hates it now.
I am sure we all get very upset when we are the victims of corrupt business deals. It is terrible to ask for one thing and receive something else. It is terrible to buy an item, only to find out too late that it was not what was described to us. God is not against making money through business. In fact, He wants us to work hard and produce a profit with the money He gives us. However, God commands us to live righteously and to do our business dealings with no corruption of any kind. We are to be completely truthful and back up what we say fully. When we do business God's way, He will bless our business more than we can imagine.
