Immediate Confession

Sin is nothing to fool around with. It is serious. Sin has all types of terrible consequences. There is only one person who can forgive our sins, and that is the Lord. We are powerless to get rid of even the smallest sin. Therefore, we need to heed what God told Moses to tell Israel, so long along. Nothing has really changed. As soon as we know we are guilty of committing a sin or sins, we need to confess it to the Lord and make it right with Him, before anything else happens. (Leviticus 5:5,6) I hope we will all take this admonition to heart.

When we are very young we become aware of our sins. We know we are guilty of doing the wrong thing. When we realize that we have not just done wrong, but we have sinned against God, we need to confess we are sinners and turn to the Lord in faith, asking Him to forgive us. This can be done at any age and at any time. It is vital. Now, we do not need to bring an animal to die to atone for our sins. Jesus has died and rose again to pay for our sins, once for all. We need to turn from those sins and trust Him, as Lord. Then, we are forgiven. However, after we come to know Jesus, we will still sin. When we do, we need to confess those sins immediately. They do not cause us to loose our forgiveness, but they come between us and the Lord to harm our relationship. When we confess our sins, saying what He would say about them, He cleanses us from all of them, and we can walk in harmony with Him. That is why immediate confession is so important. We need to be forgiven, and we need to walk with the Lord. Now is the time! Don't put it off.
