The Vast Multitude Before God's Throne

John went on to see Jesus breaking the seals on the scroll, which only the Lamb was worthy to open. Each seal revealed another plague poured out on the earth during the time of the Great Tribulation. Before the seventh seal was broken, God stopped the proceedings to seal 144,000 men from the 12 tribes of Israel. These men were protected as they went around the earth and proclaimed the gospel to every corner of the globe. Then, John saw a glorious sight. He saw a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne dressed in white robes and having palm branches in their hands. (Revelation 7:9) This multitude proves God's love for all people, and His purpose to see as many people come to repentance as possible. What should that mean to us?

Prejudice is a serious problem in our world. People judge other people and other groups of people before they even know them, based on their skin color, their religion, or their language. This is the pride of human nature, which causes us to think we are better than other people, and it is our fear of what we do not understand. God does not want us to operate in the flesh, but in the Holy Spirit. When we do, we will willingly build relationships with people who are not like us. We will reach out to all kinds of people with the love of Christ, who died for all people. Also, we will long to stand before the throne of God and see this vast multitude, as we all have been washed clean in Christ's blood, and we give Him all of the glory for our salvation. For the rest of our days on earth that should be our purpose, since it is God's purpose, and we should be determined to repent of any prejudice, so that we may freely love all people like Jesus does.
