Responsible for His Blood

As I said yesterday, we are all called to be prophets to those around us who need to hear the truth from God. We are to share whether they listen or not. I know that is very hard in some cases. I do not like confrontation myself. However, there is a very good reason for sharing the truth that should give us the motivation to say what God gives us to say. Ezekiel was given a charge from the Lord to be a watchman for the house of Israel. That meant he was given the task of warning those in exile when he saw them departing from God's will. If he was faithful to obey God, he was not held responsible for their blood. However, if he kept silent, God would hold him guilty of their blood. (Ezekiel 3:18) This is an important lesson for all of us who have the Spirit of God in us, as believers. God uses us as watchmen, too.

People who do not listen to the Lord and sin against the Lord will be held responsible for their own sins. That is how God judges us fairly. However, if we do not warn them, we bear the responsibility for their blood. What does that mean? I believe it means that God will show us that they died in their sins partially because we were disobedient to the Lord, and we did not speak up. How will the Lord do this? I am not sure there is a Bible passages that tells us exactly what it means, but it is ominousness. I believe we have an explanation in Revelation 20 and 21. The great White Throne Judgment will be for all unbelievers who never trusted the Lord. They will be sent to the Lake of Fire forever. (Revelation 20:11-15) Then, all the believers will enter the New Jerusalem to dwell with Christ forever. (Revelation 21:1-3) However, Revelation 21:4 says that the Lord will "wipe away every tear from their eyes." Why would we have tears at this point? It could be that we all watch the Great White Throne Judgment, and when someone is sent away that we should have spoken with, we are shown our responsibility for their blood. That will make us weep with anguish, so God has to wipe our tears before we join Him in heaven. I am not sure this will happen, but I pray we will be good watchmen, so we will not experience so much grief on this day.
