The Kind of Person God Favors
God is the Creator of all things that have come into being. He is in charge of the universe. God decides how to rule over His creation. He is the Lord of all people. He decides on whom He will look favorably. Isaiah told us just what kind of person that is. (Isaiah 66:2) I would say it is absolutely imperative for us to know this, so we can be that person. What do you think?
God looks favorably on the person who has three qualities. He is looking for all three, not just one or two. The combination of these thing character qualities makes a great impression on the Lord, so that we receive His favor. We need to be humble, submissive in spirit, and tremble at His Word to have God look favorably on us. To be humble is to to give God credit for all we do, never claiming we are able to do anything on our own. To be submissive in spirit, was must yield to God's way every time, never doing things our own way. Both of those are possible, if we tremble at His Word. Our trembling shows that we have the utmost respect for the Word of God, so that we will obey it and apply it in every circumstance of life. Isn't that a great picture of what we should be as Christians? I pray that the world around us will see these qualities in us, and they will see how God bestows His favor on us, too. Then, they will be drawn to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
