Jerusalem's Future Glory

Isaiah was able to foresee a day when Jerusalem would be a city of righteousness and salvation, shining with brightness like a burning torch. (Isaiah 62:1) So far, this has not happened, so it is still in the future. However, we see the signs that the coming of Christ is nearer than it has ever been, so we can see how the Lord is going to bring this to pass. I hope that we are all praying for the peace of Jerusalem and the salvation of the people of Zion right now.

The Bible is clear to me on this subject. Paul gave us direct instruction. He told us that "blindness has come in part to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in." (Romans 11:25) The fullness of the Gentiles is when the Lord comes in the Rapture to take home all of the believers, both those who are dead and the living. Then, "all Israel will be saved." (Romans 11:26) Then, he quotes Isaiah 59:20,21 about the Deliverer (Jesus) coming to turn ungodliness from Jacob and to take away their sins. The Jewish people will see the truth of the gospel, and they will all turn to Jesus during the time of the Tribulation on this earth. It will be a terrible time, but God will protect them from destruction. Finally, Jesus will come and reign from His throne in Jerusalem for the 1,000 years of the Millennium. During that time the whole world will come to worship Jesus in Jerusalem. I believe that is when it will shine with the brightness of salvation for all to see.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 63-66.
