God's Word Always Succeeds

We can always count on the Word of God accomplishing what He intends for it to accomplish when it is spoken or shared. (Isaiah 55:11) That is why we should always pray for God to give us the right verse or passage to share with others at just the right time. Our words can fail, because they do not have the same power as God's Word. However, His Word never fails or returns to Him empty. Let me explain a little.

When God lays it upon our heart to share the Bible with someone, He has a purpose for His Word being shared. Therefore, He takes His spoken Word or written Word and applies it to the heart of the hearer or reader to make sure it succeeds in giving them His true revelation. They may reject His Word or receive it, but they will know why He sent His Word to them. He uses His Word to cut people to the heart, as He did at Pentecost after Peter preached His Word. The same is true for us today, because it is the same Word with the same Author. However, we must be sure not to try to use the Word for our own selfish purposes. It is only fully successful when we share it correctly, as the Holy Spirit empowers it to communicate God's message. This could be a sharing with one other person, a small group, or a large congregation. The main thing is that we must be faithful to share it accurately according to God's purpose, so the Spirit can translate it to every heart and draw them to salvation by grace through faith.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 57-59.
