God Makes Himself Known

There are some people who say that they do not know if there is a God or not. We call them agnostics. They do not say that God doesn't exist like atheists do, but they say that we can't know Him. Of course, that is false. In fact, the Bible makes it very clear that God can make Himself known to whomever He desires. (Jeremiah 16:21) He is not limited in how many ways He can make Himself known or in what He can reveal. The real question is will we receive His revelation of Himself to us. Let's look at Israel as an example of this.

God's people had forsaken Him, and He was determined to draw them back to Himself without coercing them into a relationship with Him. That is why He decided to make Himself known to them. He revealed His power and might to them. God is so powerful that He can always work a miracle, or give a show of His power through nature. In fact, every day the power of God is evident in His wondrous creation that is all around us. However, the main thing He makes known to us is that His name is the Lord. Lord means He is in control. He is the sovereign King of the universe. There is no one who can overrule or stop what He decides to do. Therefore, once we know His power and might, as well as, His name being Lord, we have no excuse for not trusting Him. I urge all of us to be sensitive to how God is making Himself known to you right now. Learn about Him, love Him, and follow Him as Lord of your life. That is the best way to live every day.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 17-19.
