Justice and Abundant Righteousness
Elihu had some other things right, too, even though he misjudged Job's situation. He knew the transcendence and power of God. He also knew that God never violated justice and abundant righteousness. (Job 37:23) We all need to be assured of these things about God ever day.
God is the Almighty. He possess great power. He is so much greater than us that we can't find Him on our own. He has to reveal Himself to us, which He does for all of us. In fact, His power is so great, it is unlimited. Remember, there is nothing God can't do, except the wrong thing. He can't do the wrong thing, because He is always just. He always works justice for every person. It may not be in this life, but He will make sure justice is served in the end. Also, God does not just do the right thing every time. He never fails to be abundant in righteousness. He achieves perfection in righteousness for every situation.
If Job had been able to grasp these facts in his grief, he would have known that he was going to come out well in the end by God's power. Also, he would have known he could count on God being just and abundantly righteous in His dealings. That would have calmed His heart. The same is true for all of us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Job 38-41.
