Hidden in the Day of the Lord's Anger
As we see all of the terrible things happening around us in the world, we could get discouraged or depressed. We might be tempted to give up, because we feel like we will be trapped in the destruction God will send on the sins of this world. However, that is not the case. Zephaniah gave us cause for hope in these days. God showed him that those who do the right things before the Lord may be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger. (Zephaniah 2:3) What a blessing that will be! We need to make sure we are finding God's favor in these last days.
We must seek the Lord, as we are meek before Him. We must acknowledge that we are weak, but in His power we can overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil. We must uphold His justice in this dark world, even though it is unpopular, We must seek righteousness toward God and others, and seek humility in the process. We must never act better than other people. If we will do these things, we can find favor in God's eyes, so that He will hide us in the day of His anger upon the sins of this world.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Zephaniah 3 and Haggai 1-2.
