Cause Me to Know the Way

We must be led by God every day, or we will not know the right way to go to do His will. That is why I promote having an "unhurried time" with the Lord every morning before we start our work for that day. It seems that David believed the same thing. (Psalm 143:8) I have written about this verse before, but it is vital for all believers to practice what God's Word says that David had learned and practiced.

We must cry out to God in the morning, so we can hear His lovingkindness. This Hebrew word denotes His covenant faithfulness. God has entered into a covenant with every believer. He is committed to being our God and leading us in the center of His will and His way. Our part of the covenant is to fully follow Him and His Word. We must trust Him by living by faith in Him every day for everything in our lives.

When we cry out to God in the morning, we ask Him to show us the way we should walk. He has things planned and prepared for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) If we miss those things, we are walking in sin, because we are out of His will for our lives. That is why we lift up our soul to Him. We ask Him to direct us through our mind, will, and emotions, so that we see clearly what to do and how to do it. When we follow Him like this, He not only shows us the way to walk, but He supplies the power we need to accomplish it all without being hurried or stressed.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 147-149.
